Meet L.A. from Inglewood

Watch L.a.’s Story…

Our second edition of People of WHI: Meet L.A.

L.A. is a 60 year old transplant from Inglewood California who moved here to help his mom and siblings. Watch our video and listen in and learn more about L.A. and his perspective. Here are some excerpts from our conversation.

“I got caught up by being falsely accused for an aggravated robbery – and I haven’t robbed anybody. If you go to jail no matter what it’s for – you’re going to be there for a while.”

“You know one thing I like about you all – how I know that you are straight up and for real – because you look me in my eyes. Most people don’t look me in my eyes. But I can see it with you guys – you are very sincere.”

“I have a lot of disabilities – my blood pressure is out of control – I’ve got gout – and I haven’t had medication for either in about 4 months.”

“God’s going to bless you all – because I can tell you’re doing it from your heart. I felt ya’lls spirit. See people haven’t learned why they have 2 ears and 1 mouth. We should listen more and speak less.”

“The power of life and death lives in your tongue. You have the ability and authority to create your destiny into existence – which can be positive or negative based on your choices and decisions.”

“Faith is the substance of the things that you hope for and the evidence of the things that you have not seen.”

“Sometimes you need people to spend some quality time with you – that’s all!”
